It’s Six nations time.
I’m actually going up to Cardiff for the game tomorrow, we are meeting at a local cafe for breakfast and then heading up on the bus to the city.
Come on Wales!
Breakfast can be a controversial topic in the fitness world and is probably the meal I see the most mistakes on.
– Eating the wrong thing every day
– No variety
– No nutrition
We are creatures of habit, especially in the morning. A bowl of weetabix or even oats I’m sorry to say is not the best start to your day if you’re trying to lose weight.
How about a full English? (Well nearly full)
You wouldn’t have it every day but how about mixing it up and trying this recipe from my cookbook every now and then? Great for weekends.
Allowable English Breakfast
Ingredients:
- 10g organic butter or coconut oil
- 2 rashers unsmoked bacon
- large handful kale
- 2 closed cup mushrooms, sliced
- 2 small tomatoes, halved
- 2 medium sized eggs, whisked
- salt and pepper to season
Method:
- In a frying pan, melt the butter or coconut oil over a medium heat. Fry the bacon rashers on both sides until crispy or for an even healthier alternative GRILL.
- Add the kale, mushrooms and tomatoes and fry for 3-4 minutes, turning the tomatoes halfway. When the vegetables are soft, remove pan from heat.
- Pour the eggs into a non stick frying pan, over a medium heat and season with salt and pepper. Cook for around 3 minutes, stirring constantly. When the eggs are cooked, remove from heat, and transfer to a plate with the other cooked ingredients.
- Consume immediately.
