Want to know the major cause?
INFLAMMATION
What Is In Inflammation?
It is the body’s biological way of protecting itself. The aim being to rid the body of harmful stimuli including damaged cells and irritants and well as pathogens. It is the first step of the healing process.
So initially inflammation is beneficial as it protects us but the down side is inflammation often leads to further inflammation.
How to spot inflammation:
– Pain
– Heat
– Redness
– Swelling
– Injured Function
When the inflammation doesn’t go away it is known as Chronic Inflammation which is where the troubles really start. It is now no longer a healing process, instead it is a signal that something is wrong. Like I said one of the biggest causes of chronic disease comes when the body has chronic inflammation, it can last from anywhere between weeks and years.
You should do everything you can to prevent inflammation so you don’t reach the chronic stage.
To help with this it is a good idea to know what causes inflammation initially:
– Obesity
– Age
– Physical trauma
– Intensive/endurance training
– Chronic infections
– Environmental toxins
– Autoimmune disease
– Long term stress
How to reduce inflammation
The first step I would reccommend people take (easier said than done) is to reduce stress levels. Try some stress busting activities such as exercise (long cardio as opposed to high intense stuff), yoga, meditation, long walks, evenings out, reading, bath/spa and even laughing.
Chronic inflammattion is much more common in overweight individuals so following a healthy diet and exercise in order to lose weight will help dramatically.
Increase sleep levels. The more you sleep the better, having a messed up sleeping routine causes a lot of problems including weight gain and increased stress which can lead to inflammation.
Inflammation can also reduce the function in our joints which limits movement and makes exercise a lot more difficult.
There are actually certain foods which can help to reduce and prevent increased levels of inflammation but I’m afraid you’ll have to wait until next week for them.
Catch you then,
