Hi my name is Jamie Stedman and a warm welcome to my page.
I absolutely love my job, I know it sounds a little bit cliché but I love making a positive difference to people’s lives.
Since 2012 I’ve been showing busy, normal folk how to incorporate exercise and healthy eating into their lives in order to transform their health.
I specialise in working with over 40s and show them how they can be healthier than they’ve ever been without having to eat rabbit food and spend hours a week in the gym (doing the same old stuff… boring!).
I’ve done the research, I’ve sifted through all the bulls**t that you can find online or in every magazine going to bring you a formula that works.
How much would you benefit from:
- Increased energy
- Better sleep
- More body confidence
- Better body shape
- Improved fitness
Just to name a few.
Since 2012 I have been fine tuning my skills as a coach and trainer to bring you something that works. Enter my ‘Revitalise Program‘. You’ll find much more about this program on my page, if you’re impatient and want to find out now then just click here.
More about me…
I’ve always enjoyed keeping fit from a young age and have always been active and involved in sport. I found success firstly in the field of gymnastics making several national finals before moving into athletics after an unfortunate injury (I’ll tell you another time), focusing on 400m hurdles I won many national medals and enjoyed a good degree of success. I now focus on the longer distances in 2016 I completed the great wall of China Marathon and have since added Amsterdam and Snowdonia Marathon to that list.
There have been times when I haven’t been as fit as I would like, but who honestly can’t say that? Life is full of ups and downs and health and fitness is exactly the same.
I mean, how can I train people if I can’t train myself?
The benefits of being fit and feeling healthy are unbelievable, the difference being active makes to you physically as well as mentally is 100 times better than being inactive.
It is true that no matter what age or what ability you are you can benefit massively from being active.
I’m not just talking you can do 15 press ups instead of 3, I am talking waking up every morning refreshed and feeling ready to tackle the day with enthusiasm, having enough energy throughout the day to perform well in work and to train after it. There is more to exercise than getting fit, exercise makes you healthy which has a massively positive effect on your entire life.
In a somewhat lazy society, health is important, with all of the products and technology today which are designed for convenience and to make things easier it is easy to fall into the bad habit of doing nothing, if you want to make the most of your life don’t be tempted to take the easy road.
And just a little more about me.
Education took me down the path of a Sports & Exercise Science Degree which I studied for at UWIC, the knowledge I have acquired through my degree in human anatomy, physiology, coaching, biomechanics and psychology have helped to make me the personal trainer I am today.
Personal trainer wise I gained my qualification through discovery learning and am a member of the Register of Exercise Professionals (REPS), my other qualifications include Level 4 Strength & Conditioning Coach, BACPR Cardiac Rehabilitation Instructor, Cancer Exercise Instructor, COPD Exercise Instructor, Exercise GP Referral Instructor, Foodwise Facilitator plus Pre and Post Natal Exercise, Circuit Training and Kettlebell Instructor as well as being a qualified Jump Rope Trainer and Athletics Coach. If you want to see a full list of my qualifications click here.
I train at my own private fitness studio located in Bynea.
I also offer home visits as well as outdoor sessions.
Being healthy is the most important thing and that is what I try to achieve through my training. I understand that it is not all about exercise, I look into your life as a whole and take a very holistic approach to my training. I will analyse your whole lifestyle not just your fitness and help you to boost your health and quite simply how you feel about yourself.
When you break my approach down it seems quite basic; good exercise, a healthy lifestyle and good nutrition, doesn’t sound too hard but these are the three things which people neglect at a sacrifice of their own health.
It is not just what you do in the gym that determines your results. I combine exercise with good nutrition, goal setting, massage, mindset and motivation strategies which helps to develop a strong person mentally as well as physically.
What you eat is vital, you will never be able to out train a bad diet, it’s impossible. I see food as one of the biggest factors to being healthy, similar to medicine, a good diet can cleanse your body and allow it to function to its full potential. The human body is fantastic and was not designed to be slowed down by fast food and dangerous toxins.
I will never put my client on ‘a diet’ (and don’t get me started on Juice Plus and Herbalife), my nutritional aim is to, as well as losing body fat, make sustainable changes which you can carry on for life. There is no reason why you can’t enjoy good foods every day of the year and stay on track even when a few bad foods creep in, I mean we are human right?
I like to think I offer something a bit different, I don’t want to fall into the category of your run of the mill PT working in a gym (no disrespect). By taking a holistic whole body approach with my clients I believe that they can benefit a lot more.
There is no ‘one size fits all’ approach with my training, after a first session consultation I get to work on a training program and style exclusive to you and that will work for you. If it’s not relevant I won’t use it.
So whether you want to lose weight, increase muscle, run a marathon or sprint a 100m I will help design a program to help you achieve that goal.
My website is not just here as an advert for me, I am aiming to educate my readers on how to be healthy. A new article is posted every week on a topic in the health and fitness world, I won’t put anything useless on here, each article is there for a purpose.
Please feel free to look around in the exercise, nutrition or mindset and motivation menus of this website to learn something new today.
You may read things which you didn’t expect to read, especially in the field of health and nutrition. Some of the advice I offer may be slightly controversial and go against what you hear from the ‘top government organisations’, I believe that we are sometimes misled in terms of advice on how we should exercise and what we should eat by people in power.
If you want to keep up to date on my latest educational articles then pop your name and email address into the box on the top right so you don’t miss out.
What I require from you?
If you are interested in working with me then all I need from you is determination, motivation, commitment and 100% effort not just in training but at home too.
If you give me that you will come out of it healthier, fitter, mentally stronger, happier, in better shape and more educated. I will give you all of the ammunition and skills to do it for yourself when our time together comes to an end.
It can honestly be life changing. Just think how much better you would feel by achieving your goal, think what difference it could make to your life.
