Do You Fear The Gym?

January is nearly complete (woop woop I hear you cry!!)
A long and dark month that many people find the hardest.
I must admit I’ve had quite a nice month so haven’t been sucked into all this blue Monday and worst month ever rubbish.
It’s really just people rebelling because they can’t continue eating chocolate and drinking alcohol with no consequences now Christmas is over!
So readers, are you back up to full speed with your exercise routine after over 4 weeks of the New Year?

I see local gyms have plenty of great offers to bring people to joining which is good, the problem is the drop off in gym members is astounding. You’d be amazed how many people join the gym and never go again after their induction.
Most tend to do okay (ish) the first couple of weeks and then dropout.
It’s a shame and such a waste of money.
Why does this happen?
Motivation? Yes a lot of the time, people don’t have the motivation to go to the gym on their own and work out what to do.
Yes this is a big one too. I know plenty of people who have come to me because they are geniuinely scared to go to the gym.
They build it up as being this big scary place full of meat heads and lycra clad girls (which it can be sometimes!) and they know that isn’t for them and it never will be.
Unfortunately this means that these people have two options:
1. Don’t exercise
2. Try something different
This is why I set up my own private studio rather than working in a big gym.
No mirrors, relaxed atmosphere, personal, private and judge free.
