Some more great news coming out about the state of the UK’s health this week (Not!!)
A study by the British Heart Foundation has found that more than 20 million people in the UK are physically inactive!
Bloody hell!!
We are a lazy bunch aren’t we??
The study said that inactivity increased the risks of heart disease and costs the NHS around £1.2bn each year!
Government guidelines suggest that we undertake 150 mins of moderate activity each week or 75 mins of vigorous activity and strength activities two days a week.
It also found that the average adult spends about 76 days a year sitting down.
It did a breakdown of each area and where they stood (or most likely sat ;-))
In my lovely county of Wales it was found that 42% of people were inactive
I’m sorry but that is appalling
Inactivity is in the top 10 of leading causes of death around the Wales yet so many people can’t be bothered to get off their ass and do a bit of exercise
Yes we are all busy, family life does get in the way and make it hard but we have to stop making excuses before it’s too late
If not for yourself do it for your loved ones
It’s such an easy positive change to make to your life
I’d recommend not fixating on the 150 minutes and just focus on 2-3 times a week doing anything which gets the heart rate up a little bit!
I do 2 x 45 mins with most of my clients and that’s usually enough for them! 1.5 hours of the week and their sorted.
If you want to be shown the most effective way to exercise without having to bore yourself senseless with 150 mins on the treadmill each week then fill out this form and I’ll be in touch:
Now get moving this weekend!
