How To Make Your Resolutions Last

Happy New Year!!!
I don’t want to see a cheeseboard again after the festive period! I’m looking forward to getting back into my exercise and usual eating routine.
Most clients returned to training the end of this week or the start of next. Exciting times!
So we are at the ‘New Year, New Me’ time of year.
Resolutions are being set.
Hopes are high.
Often these resolutions centre around getting fitter, healthier and more often than not thinner.
Nothing wrong with that.
BUT as you know from past experience or that of friends and family members attempts these resolutions often don’t last.
In most cases they don’t even make it to the end of January.
Is there anything wrong with setting resolutions, I don’t think so.
It’s the type of goals you set and the way you approach them which is why so many people fail.
I’m all for ambition but why not try setting simple goals this year.
Realistic – Run 20 mins a day 3 x a week
Unrealistic – Run 60 mins a day every day
Realistic – Go to the gym for a 30 min workout before work each morning
Unrealistic – Train every morning for an hour and do 4-5 classes a week
Realistic – Plan and prep my lunch 5 x a week
Unrealistic – Plan and prep every single meal of the week when I don’t do any sort of healthy eating now
Change your approach, make it harder to fail.
This way your more likely to stick to it and you’re more likely to keep it going.
As you gain momentum you will start to see results.
Do less and get more.
It’s better to be fit and healthy all year round, not just for January.
If you’ve never been to a gym before what makes you think you’ll be able to go straight into a rigorous exercise regime.
There’s a much better way…
Need help?
I’m running a kickstart 12 week program to get people back on track this year and seeing some serious results.
I have one-one and small group training options available.
