Get up off your butt!

Did you know that sitting down for longer makes you age quicker?
This was a study carried out on 1500 pensioners who were sat down for 10+ hours a day and did less than 40 mins of moderate activity.
The study found that they had the bodies of people aged 8 years older! Maybe that doesn’t sound too much to you but it does to me!
Experts said it’s a wake up call for Britain’s growing elderly population.
I don’t know about you but I don’t want to spend my last 10-15 years sat in a chair and never making it out of the house. It’s a big old world out there and I don’t want mine to be restricted to 2-3 rooms.
We can pretend it doesn’t but what we do now will affect us in the future.
If you’re doing nothing now then it’ll lead to not being able to do anything in the future!
Unfortunately the study said that sitting down for that long actually undone most of the good work done by any exercise they were doing.
For all the office workers out there try and make sure you’re not sat on your butt all day long. Get up once an hour and have a walk and a stretch, get away from your desk at lunch time too! It’ll do you the power of good.
Chronological age doesn’t have to match biological age. I know 70 year olds who look and feel 50, unfortunately I know 50 year olds who look and feel 70.
What it usually always comes down to is ‘how much have they looked after their body during their life’
The good news is it’s never too late to start, if you’re 60 now and reading this having not exercised in the last 40 years then you can still dramatically improve how you feel.
So after reading this article I want you to have a think about whether you’re active enough in your life.
