QUESTION: I’ve heard a lot of people talk about fasting to help with weight loss, is this good?

ANSWER: It depends really on your approach. There is more to fasting than simply starving yourself the day after you’ve eaten crap because you’re feeling guilty. Fasting should be a structured approach and when done properly can be a really powerful weight loss strategy.

On Monday-Friday I skip breakfast, I aim to finish eating in the evenings around 7-8pm due to work then I won’t eat until around midday the next day. You should aim to fast 16-18 hours. Sometimes I don’t do this everyday like when I have a long run planned I’ll have a bit of breakfast but I find this strategy works well for me.

QUESTION: Which exercise is best to help me get rid of my stomach fat?

ANSWER: (Sigh) Unfortunately there is no miracle exercise which is going to blast away stomach fat.

So many people sadly waste their time doing countless sit ups and crunches in an attempt to lose fat around their bellies. This is the easiest area to store fat and also the hardest place to lose it.

What you need to do:

1. Have a full body training approach e.g. squats, deadlifts, press ups – the big exercises
2. Perform high intense cardio
3. Eat a clean, natural diet.

Then you’ll start to see some results.
